Genesis Block is now Hightop!

A new name for an exciting future.

I have a vision I’m so passionate about that I want to work on it for the rest of my life: to build a consumer banking experience powered by DeFi and crypto. Our mission is to financially empower billions of people, and we believe making the benefits of DeFi accessible to everyone is the best way to do that.

We’re looking towards a future where blockchain and crypto are so mainstream and pervasive that they… essentially disappear! Think of the internet: in the 90s it was a novelty; today, it supports much of our daily lives but we don’t even notice it.

That’s what we believe will happen with crypto, and we want a name that reflects this exciting, ambitious future. While the phrase ‘Genesis Block’ means a lot to crypto-natives like myself, we’re paving a future where you don’t have to be a crypto-native to benefit from crypto and DeFi, and I want our name to reflect that.

So today, we’re becoming Hightop: a banking experience* for the crypto generation, powered by web3. It’s a name that, like us, is looking towards a bright future and up for some fun along the way.
